CELLULITE

More and more people are complaining about cellulite, also called "orange peel skin". Nowadays there is hardly a 20-year-old who does not suffer from this condition.

Even women with a busy sports schedule are observing dimples on their thighs that do not disappear. It has become evident that more and more young men are also affected by the cellulite syndrome and although cellulite was hardly known in countries like China, the same problem can be observed there now, too. So what has changed?

Cellulite: a phenomenon of modern society?

From an anatomical point of view, Cellulite consists of swollen fat cells in certain problem areas. The reason for that is a change in the connective tissue which becomes weaker. Usually the muscles (muscle pump) press against the lymph vessels when they contract (movement) and therefore provide proper lymph drainage towards the heart. But when the connective tissue gets weaker, there is not enough resistance for the muscle pump to do its job properly and waste products and toxins stagnate in the peripheral areas of the body. The fat cells then take on these waste products and toxins and as a side effect start swelling, which causes the visible unevenness (dimples) on the surface of certain skin areas.

To get back to modern society: What causes the connective tissue to become weaker, more so now than decades ago? There are many women (and men) that do a lot of sport, but still their skin appearance (cellulite) will not change much. Certainly one must consider a genetic pre-disposition and especially in women the changes in the endocrine system (hormonal household) that take place from a certain age onwards (which is due to an "ancient" genetic pattern that gets stimulated as we age).

During pregnancy a lot of hormonal changes take place for a good reason. The connective tissue now needs to expand to create space for the baby. But this ancient genetic pattern goes back to times where there was no food in abundance. Therefore nature had to make sure that women (when they were pregnant) could store enough fat as an energy resource for times when there was not much food for the mother and the baby. Those fat reservoirs were deposited in between the network of a "looser" connective tissue with less collagen fibres. Certain areas of the body are pre-disposed for that (like the thighs, abdominal area etc.).

But not that many people suffer from a pre-disposition of a weak connective tissue nor are the hormonal changes as drastic as to cause almost every woman and more and more men to suffer from cellulite. The real cause, in most cases are artificially produced hormones. Not to mention hormone replacement therapy (HRT) or the contraceptive pill! All those various hormones get stuck in the body and without proper lymph drainage and detoxification they will probably stay there for a very, very long time.

The vicious circle begins: waste products and toxins create an acidic milieu in the surrounding tissue. A low pH on the other hand prevents the production of collagen fibres and the result is an even weaker tissue.

There is hardly any meat available these days that does not contain artificially produced hormones. These artificial hormones are used to speed up the growth rate and fattening of animals so that they can be slaughtered much earlier for consumption.

Cellulite - a question of age?

Cellulite is really not a question of age any more. The causes have been scientifically researched and an ingenious concept, through treatment, preparations and behavioural patterns lead to surprising results.

Is Cellulite a cosmetic problem only?

The people of the modern world understand more and more that our body is like a sacred temple that we have to look after as best as we can. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) certain components, (like nutrients, water and oxygen) have to go into the body and others (toxins and waste) have to get out of the body. If this concept works, the body is balanced, we feel energised, we have power and are alert and focused. This is called rejuvenation respectively regeneration. If any organ system is somehow imbalanced (weak), we are heading towards degeneration, minor or major ailments and we are much less capable of coping with life in general.

The same can happen once Cellulite is overlooked or not taken seriously. Although it all starts with weak connective tissue (through hormonal changes), the consequences in the long run are much more severe than "only" the cellulite syndrome: spider veins eventually turn into varicous veins, oedemas, circulation problems, skin pigmentation or ulcerations and pain as a result of bad circulation, thrombosis etc.

The unique and very sophisticated equipment of the HIGH CARE FUTURE HEALTH CENTER has shown drastic improvements of acute and chronic conditions such as leg pathologies, lymph or circulation disorders (e. g. ulcers), etc.
